In 2025, AMRF proudly marks 70 years of funding groundbreaking medical research, marking the awarding of over $100,000,000 to dedicated medical and health science researchers.

Our 70th year will feature a three-part speaker series in February, May, and August in Auckland. These events will showcase leading medical researchers who have made a significant difference in their fields.
Dr Diana Sarfati, NZ Director-General of Health, cancer epidemiologist, and eminent health services researcher; Distinguished Professor Dame Jane Harding, a world leader in neonatal research and clinical practice; and Dr Richard Frith, neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist who introduced the first CPAP machine in New Zealand.

Professor John Windsor, an acclaimed pancreatic surgeon, researcher and entrepreneur; and A/Prof Gary Cheung & Dr Rosemary Frey, experts in the End-of-Life Choice Act 2019 and improving palliative care.

We have a total of 500 in-person seats for each event available on a first come, first served basis—250 in the primary auditorium and 250 in an adjacent lecture theatre with live-cast presentations. With this limited seating in mind, please ensure all registrations are individual (not group bookings) for in-person attendance so we can keep a careful eye on numbers. If you are successful in your registration, we kindly ask you to consider those who may have missed out and honour your booking, arriving in time for a 6pm start.
